Do your crane hire services come with operators?
Yes, all of our crane hires come with CPCS-certified operators, ensuring the lift is carried out safely and professionally. We do not offer crane-only hire without an operator, as safety is our top priority.
Can I hire a crane for just half a day?
Yes, we offer half-day hire options for projects that require a shorter time frame. This is a cost-effective solution for clients who only need a crane for a few hours.
How do I know which crane I need for my project?
Our team will work closely with you to assess your project’s requirements, including the weight of the load, the height of the lift, and the accessibility of the site. Based on this assessment, we’ll recommend the best crane for the job.
What is the difference between crane hire and contract lifting?
With crane hire, you are responsible for planning and managing the lift, including providing your own personnel for supervision and safety. Contract lifting, on the other hand, is a fully managed service where we handle everything, including the lifting plan, site surveys, risk assessments, and providing all necessary personnel.
Who is responsible for risk assessments and compliance in contract lifting?
With contract lifting, we take full responsibility for risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and ensuring compliance with LOLER and BS7121 safety standards. This ensures that the entire lifting operation is managed safely and professionally.
How do I arrange a contract lift?
To arrange a contract lift, simply contact us to discuss your project. We’ll arrange a site survey to assess the location, after which we’ll create a detailed lifting plan and provide a risk assessment to ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Can you handle large-scale contract lifts?
Yes, we specialise in both small and large-scale contract lifting projects. With access to a wide range of cranes and fully certified personnel, we are equipped to manage even the most complex and demanding lifting operations.
Do you offer machinery relocation services across the UK?
Yes, we provide machinery relocation services nationwide. Whether you’re moving a single piece of equipment or an entire production line, we have the expertise and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient relocation.
What types of machinery can you relocate?
We relocate a wide range of machinery, from manufacturing equipment to large industrial machines, with a particular focus on internal moves within factories and production sites. We can also handle the removal and disposal of redundant equipment if needed.
Do you offer a full dismantling and reinstallation service?
Yes, we offer dismantling, transport, and positioning services to ensure your machinery is safely moved to its new location. Once in place, the final connections and commissioning are typically completed by your team.
How long does machinery relocation take?
The duration of a machinery relocation depends on the size and complexity of the project. After conducting a site survey, we will provide you with a detailed timeline to ensure the relocation is completed as efficiently as possible.
Why do I need a site survey before a lifting project?
A site survey ensures that your location is suitable for the lifting operation. It allows us to assess ground conditions, access points, and any potential risks that could impact the lift. This helps prevent delays and ensures the safety of the operation.
Do you use drone technology for site surveys?
Yes, we use drone technology for site surveys, especially in locations where access is limited or a detailed aerial view is needed. This provides us with accurate, real-time visuals of the site, allowing us to plan the lift more effectively.
What equipment can I hire from Advanced Lifting?
We offer a wide range of lifting equipment for hire, including cranes, lifting beams, slings, skates, man baskets, and crane pads up to 2m x 3m. All of our equipment is regularly maintained and fully compliant with LOLER safety regulations.
Is your equipment available for short-term hire?
Yes, we offer short-term hire options, including half-day and full-day hires, as well as longer-term contracts. Whether you need equipment for a few hours or several weeks, we can provide flexible hire options to meet your project’s needs.
What safety standards do you follow?
We adhere to all relevant safety standards, including LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and BS7121 (British Standard for the Safe Use of Cranes). We also follow the latest health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the project.
Are your operators and personnel certified?
Yes, all of our personnel, including crane operators, appointed persons, and slingers, are fully CPCS-certified. This ensures that everyone involved in the lift is qualified and competent, guaranteeing a safe and professional operation.
How do you ensure equipment safety?
All of our lifting equipment is regularly inspected and maintained in accordance with LOLER regulations. We conduct routine safety checks to ensure that every piece of equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for use on-site.
Do you provide safety documentation for each project?
Yes, we provide comprehensive Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) for every project. These documents outline the steps involved in the operation, the equipment used, and the safety measures in place, ensuring full compliance with safety standards.
